The Property Fire Tax Levy is a portion of you existing property taxes set aside specifically to support fire protection and EMS services for Mossyrock and surrounding areas. This levy is our main source of funding.

Our District currently provides Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) services as well as rescue, structure, wildland, and other fire responses.

In a fire district, a levy lid lift is when the fire department asks people in the community if they can collect more money through property taxes to help pay for things like fire trucks, equipment, and firefighters’ salaries. Since there’s a limit on how much they can collect, they need permission from the community to raise that limit. If the people agree, the fire district can get more money to keep everyone safe by making sure they have what they need to respond to fires and emergencies.

The fire levy funds will help us improve emergency services in several important ways. Our goal is to reduce response times by increasing staffing, replacing outdated fire trucks (some over 40 years old), updating expired firefighting gear, and maintaining strong insurance ratings for the community.
